According to a report by The Sun UK, a man's head was crushed in a freak accident involving an electronic VIP seat at a cinema in Birmingham — leaving him with "serious injuries".

The movie-goer is said to have become trapped by moving a footrest at the Vue Cinema in Star City while a movie was showing.

Commotion As Aero Contractor Plane With Faulty Gear Makes Emergency Landing In Sokoto


It has been reported that an Aero Contractors airline flight operated with Boeing 737/500 aircraft made an emergency landing in Sultan Abubakar III Airport in Sokoto due to a faulty landing gear on Wednesday.
 
According to SaharaReporters, the commercial aircraft which was en route to Abuja from Sokoto struggled to make a detour back to Sokoto airport some minutes after take off to the panic of the passengers and the crew.

South Africa’s former President, Jacob Zuma, is to face prosecution for 18 charges of corruption, the director of public prosecutions has confirmed.

They include more than 700 counts of fraud, racketeering and money laundering. He denies the charges.

Mr Zuma, 75, was forced to resign as president last month by his party, the ruling African National Congress (ANC).

Mr Samuel Timothy, a 30 year old teacher, was picked up after the Eagle eyes of security personnel from the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, and some personnel of JAMB detected that he was not a candidate of the examination he was writing at the Air Mass Computer Institute, in Madalla, Niger State.

Iraqi asylum seeker guilty of London Tube bombing


An 18-year-old Iraqi asylum seeker was on Friday found guilty of attempted murder over the botched bombing of a rush-hour London Underground train that injured 30 people.

“The prosecution argued that Ahmed Hassan made this homemade bomb with the aim of indiscriminately killing as many people as possible. The jury has agreed,” said Sue Hemming from the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) after the verdict at London’s Old Bailey.

Man in court for allegedly stealing microphones, speakers in churches


An unemployed man, Peter Adeoye, 28, who allegedly stole microphones and speakers valued at N325, 000 from two churches, on Friday appeared before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court.

Adeoye, who resides at No.1, Alade St., Iba new site, Igando, a suburb of Lagos, is facing a three-count charge of conspiracy, burglary and stealing.

The Abuja division of the Court of Appeal has okayed the reccall process of Senator Dino Melaye, representing Kogi West senatorial District of Kogi state.

The court in its judgement in the appeal ordered the Indpendeent National Electoral Commission to commence the reecall process of the senator.

ANC: Jacob Zuma innocent until proven guilty


The ANC on Friday said it noted the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) decision to reinstate charges against former president Jacob Zuma but highlighted that he was innocent until proven guilty.

“Accordingly we call on South Africans at large to afford the NPA space to conduct its work unhindered‚ we continue to assert the inalienable right of all in our country‚ including Comrade Jacob Zuma‚ to be presumed innocent until and if proven guilty‚” said ANC spokesperson Pule Mabe.

Nobel laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, has lambasted President Muhammadu Buhari for allegedly treating killer herdsmen with kid gloves.
