Congolese musician Koffi Olomide was arrested this morning at his home in an upmarket neighbourhood of Kinshasa, DRC, following a court order. The singer who was deported by the Kenyan government last week after a video emerged showing him kicking one of his female dancers at Nairobi Airport, is now facing possible Jail time.
The music star was handcuffed, put into a police car and taken to a court building where a prosecutor was waiting for him. Reports by Local media now indicate that he has been charged with assault and battery. According to BBC, Koffi who was only given only a three-month suspended sentence for assaulting one of his producers in 2012, could be sentenced to up to five years in prison if convicted.
