Thompson told a district court judge in Cheyenne that going back behind bars would be like going home. Sentencing for the woman was set for October 12.
She was arrested July 27 after a US Bank branch in Cheyenne was robbed by a woman who tossed the money into the air outside and offered some to passers-by.
Thompson then sat down and waited
police to arrive and arrest her.
She was released in June from prison in Oregon, where she had served time on a robbery conviction. Thompson said she unsuccessfully protested her release in Oregon.
Thompson previously said she had suffered facial fractures after strangers beat her at a Cheyenne park last month.
She said she couldn't get a room at a homeless shelter and decided to rob the bank last Wednesday because she could no longer stay on the streets, court records say.
