AC Milan are believed to have contacted Fernando Torres’ agent about a loan move away from Chelsea this summer.
The out-of-favour Blues forward is said to be willing to leave Stamford Bridge during this transfer window although buying clubs have so far been unwilling to match the Spain international’s current £150,000-a-week wages.
However Italian journalist, Gianluca Di Marzio, has now revealed that Milan may take up the opportunity to sign Torres after the Serie A club contacted the player’s agent about a loan move to the San Siro outfit.
It is claimed that Torres would prefer to join the Italian giants on a permanent deal – preferably a three-year contact – but Milan are not keen on the idea despite needing to sign a replacement for Mario Balotelli, who completed a £16million move to Liverpool on Monday.
Torres – who joined Chelsea in a British record transfer deal of £50million from Liverpool in 2011 – was left out of Jose Mourinho’s squad for The Blues’ 2-0 victory over Leicester at the weekend.
