Jonathan rules out prisoner swap with Boko Haram

Nigeria’s President Goodluck Jonathan on Wednesday ruled out the release of Boko Haram fighters in exchange for the freedom of more than 200 schoolgirls kidnapped by the militants a month ago.
Britain’s Africa minister Mark Simmonds, who is in Nigeria for talks about the international rescue mission, told reporters that he raised the issue with Jonathan during a meeting in Abuja.

Aminu Sadiq Ogwuche, one of the two suspects declared wanted on Monday by the State Security Service in connection with the 14 April bomb attack at a bus station in Nyanya, a suburb of Abuja has been arrested in Sudan.
Mike Omeri, the Director General of National Orientation Agency, NOA announced the arrest of the suspect at the National Briefing Centre, located at the headquarters of the agency on Wednesday.

Prophetess Sets Daughter Ablaze

 
A prophetess with a Celestial Church of Christ in Epe, Lagos State, western Nigeria, has been arrested by the police in Epe Division, Lagos for allegedly setting her 9–year old daughter on fire in a bid to deliver her from witchcraft.
The girl was rescued by the police and was taken to Epe General Hospital where she is receiving treatment at the emergency ward of the hospital for first degree burns.
