The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chieftain also jeered at Buhari and Tinubu over the ongoing Federal Government’s anti-corruption fight.

Suspected herdsmen burn ex-naval chief’s farm in Kwara, destroy food items worth over N200m

Former Chief of Naval Staff, Vice-Admiral Samuel Afolayan (retd), who served under the Goodluck Jonathan’s administration, yesterday January 17th, accused herdsmen of burning 20 hectares of orange plantation, 20 hectares of cassava farm and five hectares of palm plantation in his farm.

The former Naval chief who disclosed this to newsmen in Ibbo-Ile, Ekiti local government area of Kwara State, said the herdsmen had been destroying his plantations for over 10 years.

A young woman was raped and murdered by her “obsessed” uncle before her body was padlocked in a deep freezer, a court heard.

Celine Dookhran, 20, was kidnapped along with a second woman by Mujahid Arshid, 33, and his employee Vincent Tappu, 28, who took them to a six-bedroom house that Arshid, a builder, had been working at, the Old Bailey heard.

An Abeokuta Chief Magistrate’s Court sitting in Isabo on Wednesday remanded a 79-year-old man, Olatunji Komolafe, in prison custody over an alleged N9m fraud.

The accused, whose address was not disclosed, is facing three counts of fraud, stealing and false pretences.

A church member identified as Gladys Chi Chi Ejim, has revealed how two of the armed robbers who partook in the killing of the deacon were apprehended after they were arrested “spiritually” as they allegedly confessed to the crime. One of the armed robbers was also killed by the police.

The federal and Lagos State governments on Tuesday argued over the ownership of N28.5 million and houses allegedly acquired by corrupt means by a civil servant in the state.

The funds and properties, which are subjects of a forfeiture proceedings, were traced to Alade Anifowoshe, a Director of Accounts in the Lagos State Public Works Corporation, and are suspected to be proceeds of unlawful activities.

A court in the Leningrad region found Gleb Grozovsky, 38, guilty of molesting three underage girls. An investigation found that Grozovsky had sexually abused a girl who was under 14 in 2011 at an Orthodox summer camp in Leningrad region. In 2013, he abused two girls in another Orthodox summer camp in Greece, the probe discovered.
