The United Nations has called on different ethnic tribes and groups in Nigeria to be more tolerant to ensure unity and peace in the country.
Edward Kallon, the UN resident coordinator in Nigeria, said this in reaction to an ultimatum issued by northern youth groups calling for all Igbo people to leave northern Nigeria by October 1.

Controversial televangelist Timothy Omotoso has been refused bail in the Port Elizabeth Magistrate’s court today and ordered back to the St Albans Prison after staying there for more than a month following his dramatic arrest inside an airport toilet in May 2017.
 
The court found Omotoso to be a flight risk with no real ties to South Africa.  In addition, in the event that Omotoso is released on bail, the court said, there was a strong likelihood the alleged victims would be threatened and intimidated.

More protests have continued to greet the continued incarceration of the chairman of Capital Oil and Gas, Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, who has been in the detention of the Department of State Services (DSS) since May 6.
 
The protesting group this time around was members of the Nnewi Sports Club, who insisted that the DSS refusal to release Ubah even at instance of a competent court judgment was a threat to democracy, and a breach of his fundamental human right as enshrined in the 1999 constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria (as amended).

The transit agency has posted signs on buses, trains and metros that warn men to take up only one seat, instead of stretching their legs out and broaching their neighbors’ space.“

FIFA will not take any action against Saudi Arabia after their national team declined to participate in a minute’s silence in memory of last weekend’s deadly attacks in London.

The Saudi football federation said in a statement it “deeply regrets and unreservedly apologises for any offense caused,” after players appeared to ignore the stadium announcer’s call for a minute’s silence to honour the eight victims of the attack, including two Australians.
