The IGP said he would no longer tolerate the indiscriminate kidnapping of policemen across the country.

The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice Abukabar Malami (SAN) has been quoted to have said that President Muhammadu Buhari has directed all relevant agencies to compile documents on names of all looters with a view to promptly enforcing the judgment of a Federal High Court in Lagos ordering the government to release to Nigerians information about the names of high ranking public officials from whom public funds were recovered.

The court also ordered the government to tell Nigerians the circumstances under which funds were recovered, as well as the exact amount of funds recovered from each public official.

World Bank Denies Disagreement With Adeosun On Borrowing

A resident of Isheri-Olofin, Ogun State, has been arrested by the police after he was caught with five children he allegedly abducted from the community.
PUNCH Metro learnt that the suspect, whose name was given simply as Adebayo, had lured the children out of the neighbourhood.

The victims were identified simply as Tunde, 6; Kehinde, 6; Ayo, 7; Ayomide, 8; and Basirat, 8.

The English FA has apologised to two England women’s team players Eniola Aluko and Drew Spence after an internal investigation revealed that their former coach, Mark Sampson made discriminatory remarks towards them.

The FA bosses and Aluko faced a parliamentary inquiry on Wednesday, where former England coach Mark Sampson, 35, was found to have made “ill-judged attempts at humour” when speaking to players Eniola Aluko and Drew Spence.

A 21-year-old man, Jonathan, has allegedly set ablaze the residence of 36-year-old Joy Godwin of Okuokoko town, Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State, for allegedly preventing him from raping her younger sister, Mercy, 26.

Vanguard learned that Joy, who demonstrated bravery when the suspect allegedly broke into their home, hit him on the head with a wood, as he attempted to rape Mercy.

Ten senior policemen transferred out of Lagos command


The Police Service Commission (PSC), under the chairmanship of Sir Mike Okiro, yesterday, approved and released a signal, detailing the immediate transfer of 10 senior policemen out of Lagos State Police Command.

One of those transferred is the embattled former Officer-in-Charge, Anti-Kidnapping and Anti-Cultism Squad, State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, CSP Akinade Adejobi.
