                Senator Simeon Olasunkanmi Oduoye Dies At 69

A former Military Administrator of Niger and Ebonyi States, Senator Simeon Olasunkanmi Oduoye, is dead.
According to a family source, Oduoye, 69, died at his GRA residence in Osogbo, Osun State on Friday evening.

A 30 year old mobile policeman, Corporal Tanko Usman has allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle.
The incident took place on Saturday in an uncompleted building along Eastern Bye-pass in Minna, Niger state capital.

Dungeon where hundreds of people have been killed found in Ibadan

A dungeon where hundreds of people have been butchered to death has been found at Soka area in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital city.
Skulls and other body parts of several hundreds of human beings perished in the dungeon were seen being evacuated from the dungeon, Nigerian Tribune reports.

Baby making ‘factory’ uncovered in Ogun state


Ogun State Police Command, in western Nigeria, today discovered a “Baby Factory” where young girls have been engaged in delivering babies for sale in Akute-Ajuwon community in Ifo local government area of the State.
Eight young girls were rescued by the Police at a house on Sebanjo Crescent in Akute, also a suburb of Lagos. The police arrested Mrs Angela Chigozie and his brother-in-law, Obinna Ndunaga for interrogation at the State Police headquarters, Eleweeran, Abeokuta.

An Abuja Federal High Court on Friday sentenced a 36-year-old man, Callistus Chukwukelu, to life imprisonment for unlawful importation of cocaine weighing 1.47 kg into the country.
Chukwukelu was arrested at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on 1 January while returning from Sao-Polo, Brazil, via an Ethiopian Airline.

Boko Haram: Borno closes its schools


Borno has closed its schools over fears of Islamist militant group Boko Haram, which Amnesty International said killed at least 170 students and teachers last year.
Schools closed on March 17, teachers and students said, after a series of attacks in rural areas, including a school massacre in neighboring Yobe state last month that drew international condemnation. Boko Haram burned down more than 50 schools in the region in the past year, according to the Education Ministry.
