Police arrests eight suspected robbers


Operatives of the Inspector-General of Police’ (IGP) Intelligence Response Team (IRT) on Wednesday arrested eight suspected armed robbers whose alleged specialty was house burglary and car snatching.

The gang leader, Felix Iheanacho (37) and his members – Emmanuel Manase (29), Daniel Talumun (26), Ibrahim Musa (32), Tayo Oyemaki (24), Promise Ruben (25), were arrested alongside alleged receivers of the stolen vehicles, Danjuma Mustapha (29) and Mustapha Labaran (24).

Delta Air Lines undermine Nigeria’s law on incident investigation – AIB


Engineer Akin Olateru, the Commissioner of Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB), has castigated the management of Delta Airlines over the fire incident involving its Airbus A330-200 aircraft mid-air last Tuesday night.

The visibly angry Olateru said that as at 3pm on Wednesday, the management of the airline was yet to inform the Agency as required by the law, rather went straight to its agency in the United States, National Transport Safety Board (NTSB) to report the incident.

The men- Chihozie Uzochukwu, Mordi Innocent Chukwurah, Ifeanyi Igwewena- two companies; Hizec Marine Services LTD and Patfimo Marine Services LTD, were arraigned in a seven-count charge of unlawful importation, forgery, and conspiracy.

22 Pupils On Excursion Die In Road Crash

Imo will reject Okorocha’s son-in-law as gov –PDP

$350m power fund not diverted – Adeosun, Fashola


The Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun; and the Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola (SAN), on Tuesday denied the alleged diversion of $350m belonging to the Nigerian Electricity Bulk Trading Company domiciled in the Nigerian Sovereign Investment Authority.

The NSIA also said the $350m it was managing for the NBET had grown to $384m.

The Oyo House of Assembly has called on Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State to equip and empower vigilante groups across the state, especially in rural areas, as a way of tackling threats posed by herdsmen to farmers.

Delta airline flight from Lagos to Atlanta catches fire, 5 injured


Five people sustained several minor injuries, after passengers on board a Delta Airline Flight from Lagos Nigeria to Atlanta used emergency slides to evacuate the flight and returned to the airport in Lagos, after one of the planes engine caught fire.

According to Delta, the Airbus A330-200 had an issue with one of its two engines. Flight 55 landed safely but five passengers suffered minor injuries during the evacuation while the plane was on the runway.
