A 37-year old Palm wine tapper, Mr Femi Taiwo, on Thursday, appealed to an Ado-Ekiti Customary Court to dissolve his three-year-old marriage to his wife, Bose, over her alleged frequent attacks.

Femi in his application for divorce also accused his wife of disrespecting her in-laws and in the habit of constantly fighting him over trivial matters.

The petitioner said both his parents and family members had tried to intervene in their family feud but that his wife failed to listen to their counsel.

Court Orders EFCC Unfreeze Patience’s $6m Account


A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has ordered the Economic And Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to unfreeze the account of former first lady Patience Goodluck Jonathan.
The account contains $5.9 million.
Recall that a Federal high court sitting in Lagos had in December last year ordered the freezing of multiple accounts by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, suspected to be owned by Dame Patience Jonathan and also suspected to be proceeds of crime.

A man identified as Daniel Ekemezie, who killed his 83-year-old uncle, Patrick Odoh over land dispute has blamed the devil for his action.
Ekemezie’s claim was contained in a statement by the spokesperson of the Enugu State Police Command, Ebere Amaraizu, on Wednesday.
Amaraizu said Ekemezie carried out the act at Ukpata community in Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area of the state on March 4, 2017 at 8.pm.

Nigeria Super Eagles have moved one place up to the 40th spot with 726(725.67) points in the April FIFA/Coca-Cola World Football Rankings. This also placed Nigeria as the 4th best football nation in Africa.

Egypt and Senegal maintained the first and second spots receptively. Egypt moved one place up to 19 in FIFA rankings, while Senegal moved two place down to 30.

Officers arrived at Musa's home just hours after Leicester's 2-0 win over Sunderland on Tuesday night, a match which the 24-year-old didn't play in.

Five Nigerians were among the 35 women captured by the Islamic State fighters in Sirte, Libya and turned into sex slaves for months.

The increase in the United States’ imports of Nigerian crude oil has continued, with a record import of 9.78 million barrels in January, the latest report from the US Energy Information Administration has revealed.
Nigeria saw significant reduction in the US imports of its crude in recent years, starting from 2012, following the shale oil production boom.

Leicester City Striker Ahmed Musa has been arrested and questioned by the police for allegedly beating his wife, Jamila, according to UK tabloid, The Sun.

The Nigerian International was said to have been picked up by the police from his home in Leicestershire around 1am on Wednesday, not long after wishing his wife and “queen” happy birthday in an Instagram post.
