The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has described the recent apology by the Chairman of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus, over past mistakes of the party as deceitful and should not be accepted by Nigerians.

The Islamic group said the apology was half-hearted as it didn’t address whether or not the party will return funds allegedly stolen.

Helen Ehianu, who suffers from epilepsy left home on March 22, 2018, with a friend who promised to take her to a place where her epilepsy can be cured. But she was found dead in a pit at Obior community, in the Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State, on March 24. She had been strangled and her leg broken. Her baby was nowhere to be seen, neither was the friend, and it is now believed that the child has been kidnapped.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has tasked the National Assembly to commence appropriate constitutional legislative actions against President Muhammadu Buhari for gross misconduct following what it called his unilateral approval of the sum of $1 billion from the national coffers to fight insurgency.

The police in Enugu State command said they are not aware of any case of rape during a live musical show organised by Afro hip-hop star, Flavour, at Michael Okpara Square, in Enugu, on Saturday night. Reports, which emanated from the social media, alleged that about 20 ladies were raped at the event, which attracted a very large turnout.

The Enugu State Police Command had earlier disclosed that an unnamed individual was arrested while attempting to rape an unidentified lady at the concert.

Four members of a family were Wednesday massacred in Taraba state by the rampaging herdsmen. A 9-month old toddler, however, survived the attack, an eye-witness said. Police Commissioner, David Akinremi, who confirmed the attack and killings, said, the incident, took place in Bikka village of Takum local government area, the home of Governor Darius Ishaku and former Defence Minister Theophilus Danjuma.

The killing comes 11 days after Danjuma indicted the armed forces of “colluding” with the killers, asking Nigerians to arm themselves and balance the terror, otherwise they will all die one by one.

Unable To Pay N5,000 Fine, Engineering Graduate Opts For 5-Month Jail Term


An Ibadan North-East Magistrate Court has sent a 37 year-old engineering graduate, Segun Moses, to five and a half months in prison for stealing trailer batteries, 30 liters of diesel and a fowl.

In the charge sheet‎ number MNE/1065c/2018, the convict was arraigned with an accomplice, Femi Taiwo, on four counts of conspiracy and stealing.
