Ajudua seeks to quash $1 million fraud charge


Lagos socialist, Fred Ajudua, Monday prayed an Ikeja High Court, to quash a $1 million fraud charge brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The EFCC, had in the charge, alleged that Ajudua and his an accomplice, Joseph Ochunor, in 1993 defrauded one Ziad Abu Zalaf of Technical International Limited, a company based in Germany of $1 million dollars.

The Presidency has reacted to recent media reports suggesting that the State House Medical Centre received N11.01billion as appropriation for the period 2015-2017.

According to the Permanent Secretary, State House, Jalal A. Arabi, contrary to the above claims, out of the total Capital Appropriation of N2,941,062,044.00 and Recurrent Appropriation of N465,935,358.00 for the period under reference, only the sum of N969,681,821.53 (representing 32.97%) for Capital and N225,575,200.60 (representing 48.41%) for Recurrent was actually released.

Ailing minister returns from US medical trip


The Minister of State for Education, Prof.  Anthony Anwuka, who was flown to the United States for medical treatment, came back on Sunday after spending 27 days.

Anwuka, who arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, at about 6pm, told journalists that he did not receive any funds from the Federal Government, but was sponsored by his son, a doctor in Dallas, USA.
