Sule Lamido’s trial adjourned till November 15


Justice Babatunde Quadri of Federal High Court in Abuja on Wednesday adjourned trial of former Governor of Jigawa, Sule Lamido, until November 15.

Lamido is being prosecuted alongside his two sons, Aminu and Mustapha, and two others by Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on a 27-count charge bordering on abuse of office and money laundering.

“We arrested the criminals at (the hotel) Peacock — they were promoting homosexuality. Two are South Africans, one Ugandan and nine Tanzanians,” Dar es Salaam police head Lazaro Mambosasa said at a weekly press conference.

Presiding over the case, Justice Forson Baah Agyapong found Abdulai Rahman, 29, who was responsible for mobile money electronic transactions at the bank guilty.
