Nigerian Navy Kills One, Arrests Two For Disrupting Elections In Ondo


Officers attached to the Ondo State Naval Command on Saturday shot dead a hoodlum who disrupted the House of Assembly election in Ilaje area of the State, while two others were also apprehended and handed over to the police.

It was gathered that the alleged suspects on sighting a naval patrol team opened fire and in their defence, the patrol team fired back, leading to the arrest of one of the men.

2 Police Officers Escorting Election Results To Collation Centre Die In Taraba


Two police officers in Taraba died Sunday while escorting election results to the collation centre in Bali local government area.
The police officers, who were deployed to Marrio village in the council, according to the police spokesperson, Joseph Kwaji, drowned after the boat transporting them capsized.

INEC Declares Imo State Governorship Elections Inconclusive

The INEC Returning  Officer for the governorship election in Imo State,  Prof Ibidapo Obe has  declared  the  results of Imo state governorship  election inconclusive following detected electoral mal practices in some local government area.
After counting and collation, summary of  Imo governorship election results is as follows:
APC: 385,671
PDP: 306,142
Margin of win: 79,529
Cancelled Votes: 144,715
Verdict: Election is Inconclusive

Ex-Governor, Ibori's Daughter Erhiatake Ibori Wins House Of Assembly Seat In Delta


The Independent National Electoral Commission has declared Erhiatake Ibori, daughter of former governor of Delta State, Chief James Ibori, winner of the Ethiope West Constituency seat in Delta State.

Erhiatake, who contested for the seat under the platform of the PDP was declared winner by INEC after she polled a total of 32,700 votes, compared to the 1,429 recorded by her closest rival- Edirin Ajueshi Ejidiran of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
