Passengers were left 'shaken' after a plane belonging to United Airlines caught fire moments after landing.

The left engine at the back of the small aircraft was in flames as the plane carrying 65 passengers and crew was evacuated on the runway.

Ms Zhang, 26, was doing a live stream for something she termed "Aloe Vera Feast" in a bid to promote the benefits of eating raw aloe vera when she bit off a part of alarge plant, unaware that she was consuming Agave Americana, a poisonous plant. The video of the live show has been circulated online by various Chinese websites.

Five persons have been remanded at the medium prison facility in Ogwashi-Uku, Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State, over their role in the alleged forgery of the will of Chief Bernard Ogbolumani.
The accused include a popular Asaba-based legal practitioner, Emeka Okonkwo, and a priest of the Anglican Church, Rev. Samuel Azuka Ogbolumani, the deceased’s son.
Others are Chijindu Iloba Obanya, aka Jindu, Edozie Nwabuoku and Emeka Eseokwu.

I met only N1,500 in LG account, says Chairman


The Chairman, Mubi North Local Government in Adamawa, Alhaji Musa Bello, said on Monday that he met only N1,500 in the account of the local council when he assumed office.

Bello told newsmen in Mubi that he also inherited a liability of over N200 million.
“I met only N1,500 in the council’s account and a liability of over N200 million, while the Internally Generated Revenue of the council, then, was N150,000 weekly,’’ the chairman said.

The police said a 23-year old man describing himself as a “nationalist” has been placed under investigation over a plan to attack French President Emmanuel Macron at this year’s July 14 Bastille Day parade.

The Imo State Police Command have arrested two members of a notorious kidnapping/armed robbery gang following a fierce gun duel in Owerri. Two other suspects later died as a result of injuries sustained during the exchange of fire, while the surviving two are cooperating with investigation. 

A statement issued yesterday by the spokesperson for the Command, said that on Friday, June 30, operatives of the command monitoring unit while on routine patrol near a petrol station at Irete in Owerri West L.G.A had encounter with a four man gang of suspected kidnappers/armed robbers. In the ensuing exchange of gun fire, the suspects were overpowered and arrested with various degrees of injuries.

An armed robber has expressed deep regret over the death of his mother because of his arrest. 26-year-old Sikiru Lawal told newsmen that he if he had known that his mother would die, he would never have involved himself with armed robbery.

He said, “She had been sick and had been on hospital bed for some time. We were praying she would get better. I’m one of the three children she had. I was told that when she heard I was arrested for a criminal offense, she gasped and died. I regret my action.”

FRSC Sends 80 Traffic Offenders For Mental Check Up


The Federal Road Safety Corps has sent 80 persons to mental health facilities for various traffic offences, as traffic marshals commence pilot exercise for new road safety enforcement policy.
 
Bisi Kazeem, the commission’s spokesperson, told PREMIUM TIMES in a chat on Sunday afternoon that the offenders were arrested between Saturday and Sunday.
 
The new policy kicked off on July 1. The 80 persons were arrested for 86 offences which ranged from driving without seatbelts to making phone calls while driving, Mr. Kazeem said.

Body of missing 5-yr-old boy found inside cesspit in Abuja


A five-year-old boy, Desmond Rabome, has been found dead in a cesspit at an uncompleted house in Ushafa community, Abuja, after missing for days.

Desmond, who started living with his maternal aunt, Mrs. Joy Odufo, in February after the death of his mother, reportedly went missing at about at 6.30 p.m. on June 28.

Odufo, who is the elder sister to Desmond’s father, alleged that the matter was reported at the Ushaffa Police station but no action was taken to search for the missing boy.
