Mohammed Salah of Egypt and Nigeria’s Azeezat Oshoala have emerged as the winners of African Player of the year award for Men and Women respectively.
Both players were announced as the winners in the top categories at Thursday’s ceremony at the Accra International Conference Centre.

Leave or Face Imprisonment - Israel Issues "90 Days Ultimatum" to African Migrants


The Israeli government has issued a notice for thousands of African migrants to leave the country or face imprisonment.
 
The migrants will be given up to $3,500 (£2,600) for leaving within the next 90 days.

44-year old woman stabbed to death on the streets of London


A 44-year-old woman has died after she was stabbed to death on a residential street in East London yesterday evening January 3rd. Paramedics found the woman suffering seriously stab wounds and unresponsive in Norfolk Road, Ilford and called in the police. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 7pm.

Mother abandons child with cerebral palsy in Delta State hospital


A 14-year-old boy, Steven Orode, diagnosed of Cerebral palsy and acute malaria has allegedly been abandoned by his mother at the Central Hospital, Warri, Delta State, TheNation reports.

Troops of the Operation Lafiya Dole deployed in Pulka, Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno, on Thursday rescued one of the Chibok schoolgirls abducted by Boko Haram terrorists in April 2014.

A cluster of three nano-satellites developed by scientists at Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, Haifa, will be the world’s first to be flown in formation.

Police arrest eight herdsmen over Benue attacks


The police in Benue State have arrested eight herdsmen over the killing on Monday of 20 residents of Guma and Logo Local Government councils.

Police spokesman Moses Yamu said in a statement that “eight herdsmen, six in Guma and two in Logo, have been arrested in connection with the attacks.”
