Bruno Genesio ‘confident’ about Memphis Depay’s future at Lyon


Lyon coach Bruno Genesio has defended Memphis Depay’s recent dip in form and backed the former Manchester United man to come good again.
Depay, 23, joined Lyon from United in January, and after settling in he enjoyed a rush of five goals and two assists in six Ligue 1 matches.
However, since scoring a stunning goal from the centre circle against Toulouse on 12 March, Depay has failed to score in his last four league matches, although he has provided two further assists.

A Nigerian man, Mr. Chinedu Eze has been killed in South Africa by a Somalian, the Nigeria Union in South Africa has confirmed. The Chairman of the union, Mr Mike Ibitoye,  said that  Eze was shot on April 25 during an argument over cell phone.


"Chinedu Eze is a native of Umuchu, Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State. He deals in cell phones. Reports at our disposal said that on the fateful day, there was an argument between him and Somali man inside a car.

A man has been jailed for sexually assaulting a pensioner after rugby tackling her to the ground.

Greg Laird, 29, admitted groping the 82-year-old woman while she was walking on her own through Bletchley, Buckinghamshire.

Prosecutor Sandra Beck said the pensioner punched him to get him off her.
Miss Beck said: ‘There was no real reaction to her actions as she made pleas to the man and was screaming and crying, telling him “I’m 82 I’m 82, I don’t want this, get off me”.’
He put his hand under her bra and groped her breasts while performing a sex act on himself.

The family of 15-year-old Ajala Samuel thought they could briefly use him to raise money for some urgent family needs.

But four months after handing him over to a Lagos trader, identified as Iya Meta, who paid them N8,000, his whereabouts had yet to be known by the parents.

It was gathered that Iya Meta allegedly loaned Samuel to some traders on the Lagos Island, who paid N72,000 for him.

President Muhammadu Buhari is seeking senate's approval for a proposal to borrow $5.85 billion from China to modernise its rail network and another $1.075 billion from the World Bank to help rebuild the insurgency-torn northeast.

Buhari urged parliament in a letter to approve the railway borrowing because China has a limit on funds available from its China Africa Fund. The president wants to sign loan agreements as soon as China approves the project.
