A man has approached an Ikorodu Customary Court in Lagos State, seeking for divorce on the account that his wife is diabolical.
The petitioner, Mr. Samuel Arogundade, told the court that his wife, Felicia, whom he has been married to for 14 years used diabolical means to ruin his life.

According to Ajoke, Okonkwo disappeared after she gave birth to the girl he allegedly defiled in 2005.

Doctors amputate woman's after spider bite gives her 'flesh eating infection'


A young woman, Chey Alvarez woke from a coma to discover her leg had been amputated after a spider bite became infected with a flesh-eating bug. She was left fighting for her life as doctors battled to stop the rapidly spreading infection.

The 21-year-old was at her home in Surrey, Canada, last month when she was bitten on her right ankle by what is believed to be a brown recluse spider.

Court jails two Brazilians 15years each for drug trafficking


Two Brazilians were on Friday sentenced to 15 years in prison or N20m fine each by Justice C.M.A. Olatoregun of the Federal High Court in Ikoyi Lagos, for unlawful importation of 23.865kg of cocaine through the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA) Lagos.

The convicts who claimed to be tourists had earlier pleaded guilty to a one count charge of importation of cocaine without lawful authority.

122 nations adopts atomic weapons ban treaty


A treaty that bans nuclear weapons was adopted by 122 countries at the UN on Friday, but countries with nuclear arsenals are boycotting the pact.
The treaty obliges countries not to develop, test, produce or possess nuclear arms, or to acquire them by other means – “never under any circumstances.”

An ex-customs official, Ngwoke Emmanuel, has been arrested by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency for attempting to smuggle cannabis through the Seme border to Lagos Island.
In his confession, he told officials that he was paid half a million naira to smuggle the parcel of drugs disguised as used clothes.

THE Police in Onitsha, Anambra State, over the week, uncovered a spot between the bank of the River Niger and the famous Main Market, through which unwholesome Kiwi Shoe Polish and other products were illegally imported into the commercial town and beyond.

Nigerian illegal immigrant in the United Kingdom (UK) is to spend the next five years in jail after a court found him guilty of leading  a gang which used the identities of members of parliament, judges and police officers to swindle the  taxpayer out of millions of pounds.
Kayode Sanni, 38, was jailed for  five years and three months for his role  in the scam,according to The Daily Mail.

Evans safe in custody – Police spokesman


The police said on Saturday that the arrested kidnap kingpin, Chukwudumeme George Onwuamadike, alias Evans is still in their custody and has not vanished as widely speculated.

The spokesman for the  Police,  Jimoh Moshood, a Chief Superintendent of Police,  said Evans was safe and still under police watch.

Manal Al-Sharif, who now lives in Sydney, spent nine days behind bars after being charged with ‘driving while female’ after she uploaded a YouTube video of herself travelling through the streets of Khobar in May 2011.

A twenty-five year old man, Sunday Imoh, has been paraded by the Cross River State Police Command for allegedly dumping his six-month-old daughter in public dustbin in the Edim-Otop axis of the Calabar metropolis.
The suspect allegedly put the little girl in a carton and abandoned her by the side of the dustbin after a quarrel with the mother over the child’s upkeep.

Ogun Police Command on Thursday, July 6, arraigned five suspected killers of ex-Naval officer, Chief Moses Akanni Famuyiwa, before a Magistrate’s Court in Ifo, Ogun State.

The suspects namely Dare Abiodun (19), Femi Ayinla (17), Aliami Akinlotan (18), Jamiu Akewe (19), and Gbenga Ojo (20); were arraigned on a three-count charge of felony, armed robbery, and murder.

French prosecutor wants the son of Equatorial Guinea's President jailed for embezzling $115m from his country


A French public prosecutor on Wednesday asked a court to sentence the son of Equatorial Guinea's president to three years in jail on charges of embezzling $115 million from his country to buy Parisian luxury properties and exotic cars.

Teodorin Obiang, who's the Vice President of Equatorial Guinea and the eldest son of President Teodoro Obiang denied the charges of laundering embezzled public funds. He is being tried in absentia.

Tallis Obed Moses, a long-serving Pastor and former leader of the Presbyterian Church, has been elected President of the Vanuatu Republic in the southwest Pacific Ocean.

The 63-year-old was sworn in Thursday after winning 39 votes against his opponent, former prime minister Maxim Carlos Korman.

According to H-Metro, Pastor Jonah Marecha is reported to have impregnated one Hannah, a member of his church who he promised to marry but later asked her to terminate the six-weeks old pregnancy.

A 45-year-old Nigerian national and his local accomplice were arrested by Bengaluru Cyber Crime Police, India on Wednesday, July 5, for committing car fraud through declassified ads site OLX .

Augustin Anyeva Peter, who came to India on a 15-day travel visa, took photos of luxury cars parked in posh areas of the city and posted the images on OLX, pretending to "sell" the cars at very low rates and accepting advance payments from prospective customers.

US and Russia agree new Syria ceasefire deal
