Controversy as Prisons Wardress is Dismissed for Smuggling Alcohol Into Kirikiri Lagos Prison

A statement by F. Enobore, the spokesperson for the Nigerian Prisons, on Tuesday, a female Prisons staff attached to Kirikiri female prisons in Lagos, has been dismissed from the service for smuggling alcoholic drinks into the prison yard.

The dismissal letter signed on behalf of the Controller-General of Prisons by the officer incharge of discipline, Agun Olatunji, said that the staff was found guilty of negative activities which borders on trafficking, an act that contravenes the enabling provisions of Sections 14 (i) (a) and Section 82 (n) of Prisons Act Cap P.29 LFN 2004 and punishable under Sections 14 (i) (g) and Section 83 of same Act.

Teacher arraigned over alleged oral sex with student in Ogun

The Police on Tuesday arraigned a 21-year-old teacher, Matthew Sodake, at an Ota Magistrates’ Court for allegedly having oral sex with a 14-year old student.

The accused, whose address is unknown, is facing alleged charge of assault.

The prosecutor, Sgt. Chudu Gbesi, told the court that the accused committed the offence on July 12 at about 8.00 p.m. at Ambassador Star Comprehensive Secondary School, Answer, Ota in Ogun.

The Ibadan Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested five undergraduates for internet scam.

They are – Paul Adeleke (21), Tayo Adebiyi (22), Akinsanmi Olusola Adeniyi (21), Ogundile Ademola James (23) and Okali Ugochukwu (21).

Lagos Landlord Kills Tenant Of 4 Months

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a landlord, Gbade Metibemu, for allegedly stabbing his tenant of four months, Bright Abraham, to death on Apollo Street in the Makoko area of the state.
