Selena Gomez reportedly spent two weeks in treatment for Depression & Anxiety this January(Photos)


Selena Gomez reportedly spent the last two weeks, starting from January 5th, in New York, where she completed a treatment program for issues relating to depression and anxiety.

According to the Blast, the 25-year-old singer took part in therapy sessions, healthy eating and Pilates and meditation classes for two weeks.

President Buhari deserves a second term – Patrick Obahiagbon


Former Member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Patrick Obahiagbon has joined voices with those calling for President Muhammadu Buhari’s second term noting that the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led administration has performed well enough to deserve a second term.

The APC Chieftain said this on Friday when he appeared as a guest on Channels Television as he reacted to the critical public statement recently written by the former President Olusegun Obasanjo to President Buhari, Obahiagbon disagreed with some of the points raised by Obasanjo and scored President Buhari high.

Importing Sex Dolls Into Botswana Now An Offence


Botswana lawmakers have placed an embargo on the importation of sex dolls for men.

This is as contained in a section of their law that disavows men from copulating with sex dolls.

According to Section 178 of the Botswana Penal Code, bringing sex toys in Botswana is an offence.

12 Year Old Girl Electrocuted To Death After She Dropped Her Phone In Water While Charging In The Bathroom


A Russian schoolgirl named Kseniya P, was electrocuted in her bath after her smartphone fell in the water while she was charging it, according to Daily Mail UK.

The 12-year-old, named as Kseniya P, is reported to have died instantly.

Her distraught mother told police she took a bath when she returned home from playing basketball after school.

President Muhammadu Buhari has said Nigeria has no regret fighting the scourge of apartheid in South Africa until a full democratic system was established in the country.

Receiving the outgoing South African High Commissioner to Nigeria, Mr Lulu Louis Mnguni, at the State House, President Buhari said Nigeria made lots of sacrifices during the years of apartheid to ensure that full rights were restored to all citizens, irrespective of the colour of their skin.

EFCC drags CCT chairman, Umar Danladi, to court over alleged N11.8m bribe


The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has dragged the Chairman, Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT, Danladi Umar to the Federal High Court, Abuja over alleged N11.8 million bribe.

A copy of the charge sheet showed that the antigraft agency is accusing Umar of asking for and receiving bribes in the discharge of his official duties. In the first count, the EFCC accused the CCT Chairman of asking for the sum of N10m from one Rasheed Owolabi Taiwo, sometime in 2012, in order to show the said Rasheed Taiwo favour in a charge pending against him.

‘We generated N31 Billion In January 2018’ – Apapa Customs Command


The Apapa Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) generated N31 billion in January, up from N25.9 billion recorded in the corresponding period of 2017.

The Public Relations Officer of the command, Mrs Nkiru Nwalla, made this known in an interview with NAN in Lagos on Friday.  According to her, the annual revenue target of the command for 2018 is N426 billion, while the monthly target stands at N36 billion.  She attributed the increase in revenue generated in January to the leadership qualities of the Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Jibrin Musa.

Leicester City To Fine Riyad Mahrez £200,000 Over Absence From Training


Riyad Mahrez is not expected to play for Leicester City in their Premier League game against Swansea on Saturday after failing to report for training on Thursday.

The Algerian is facing a £200,000 fine after going absent without leave for a third day and it is not known when the winger will next report for duty.

The Police Command in Benue is interrogating the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Gboko A Division over the Wednesday killing of seven persons.
The Commissioner of Police in Benue, Mr Fatai Owoseni, said in Makurdi on Friday that some persons had been arrested in connection with the killings.

Herdsmen killings: Stop calling Buhari a murderer Presidency warns


The Presidency said on Friday that it was “grossly” disrespectful and unfair to refer to President Muhammadu Buhari as a murderer over the killings by suspected herdsmen in Benue and other parts of the country.
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, while briefing State House correspondents at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, said that people should learn to express their grievances and criticisms without resorting to name calling.

Lagos officials rescue 14-year-old torture victim


Enforcement officers from the Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development have rescued a 14-year-old girl, Unwana Emmanuel, from her guardian.
The ministry on Friday, in a statement, explained that the move became necessary because Emmanuel had allegedly been “suffering physical abuse in the hands of her guardian known as Mummy Chidera in the Mushin area of the state.”

Apple overtakes Samsung in shrinking smartphone market


Apple overtook Samsung in the fourth quarter as the largest smartphone producer in a declining global market for handsets, a research firm said Friday.

A survey by research firm IDC showed Apple — which reported its quarterly data Thursday — led all vendors with 77.3 million iPhones sold, giving it a 19.2 percent market share.

A Nigerian law student from Benson Idahosa University has just exposed one of her friends who she alleged made a nude video call with her benefactor in an attempt to snatch him away from her. 

The lady simply known as  Nikki Ufuoma took to her Instagram stories to give an account of the scenario that went down between her friend and her benefactor.
