Two whistle blowers docked for providing false information


The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Tuesday arraigned the duo of Buhari Fannami and Ba-Kura Abdullahi on two separate one count charge before Justice M. T Salihu of the Federal High Court Maiduguri, for allegedly giving false information to the agency under the whistle blowing policy.
Mr. Fannamit had misled the EFCC with the information about illegally acquired monies purportedly buried at the residence of one Ba’a Lawan but the information turned out to be false after the execution of a search warrant.

The acceptance rate of Lesbians, Gays, and Bisexuals among Nigerians is on the rise according to a latest survey by NOIPolls, a premier organisation for country specific polling services in West Africa.
Commissioned by The Initiative for Equal Rights (TIERs), a non-profit organization working to protect the rights of sexual minorities, the Social Perception Survey on Lesbian, Gays and Bisexual Rights report showed a rise in family acceptance from 11 per cent in 2015 to 13 per cent in 2017.

Today the European Commission updated the EU Air Safety List, the list of non-European airlines that do not meet international safety standards, and are therefore subject to an operating ban or operational restrictions within the European Union. The EU Air Safety List seeks to ensure the highest level of air safety for European citizens, which is a top priority of the Aviation Strategyadopted by the Commission in December 2015.

Mazzarri to leave Watford this weekend


Walter Mazzarri will leave Watford at the end of the season, the Premier League club have announced.
“After the board discussed with Walter Mazzarri the club’s future goals and aspirations, it was decided he will be stepping down from his position as the club’s Head Coach after the final game of the 2016/17 season,” Watford chairman Scott Duxbury said in a statement.

A 55-year-old man was on Tuesday arraigned before an Iyaganku Magistrate’s Court in Ibadan, Oyo State, for being in possession of a human skull.
According to the charge sheet, with number, Mi/1731c/2017, the accused, Isaiah Alimi, who claimed to be a prophet, was arraigned on one count of unlawful possession.
The prosecutor, Mr Sunday Ogunremi, told the court that the accused, on May 5, 2017, at about 9.10pm on Sango Road in Ibadan Magisterial District, did unlawfully had in his possession, one human skull.

A suspected fake naval rating, Kingsley Chukwueke, and his accomplice fake soldier, Chidi Ibrahim has been arrested by policemen from the Zone 2 Command, Lagos, for allegedly robbing a motorist.

Chukwueke, Ibrahim and a tailor, Alaba Akanni, were paraded at the Zone 2 Command, Onikan, on Tuesday.

The operatives attached to the command were on a routine patrol along the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway penultimate Saturday, when the suspects were caught robbing their victim, a trader in Idumota.

Police in Oregon say a man entered a grocery store over the weekend while carrying the severed head of his mother before allegedly stabbing a cashier seven times. 

The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office arrested 36-year-old Josh Webb and charged him with murder and attempted murder after the horrific scene unfolded at the Estacada Thriftway outside Portland.

The suspects, identified as Chukwueke Kingsley 26, Chidi Ibrahim 25 and Alaba Akanni 20 were paraded this morning at the Zone 2 Police Command, Onikan, Lagos by Dolapo Badmus, the Zonal PPRO in charge of Lagos and Ogun State.
