Buhari restates vow to probe present, past corrupt officials

President Muhammadu Buhari has reiterated that all past and present corrupt officials will be probed.

He said the anti-corruption agencies have been repositioned to undertake the legal battle against them.

Lagos suspends approval for construction of filling stations

The Lagos State Government has suspended approval for construction of filling stations in all parts of the state till further notice. The government said it had already resolved not to grant construction permit for filling stations pending the inventory of existing ones.

The state Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Mr. Wasiu Anifowoshe, who disclosed this at the ongoing ministerial press briefing to commemorate the second year anniversary of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, also said that the government had not relented in the proposed relocation of Computer Village in Ikeja to ICT Park, Katangowa in Agbado/OkeOdo LCDA to tackle environmental degradation and meet the growing demand for housing stock deficit in the state.

Osinbajo panel interrogates suspended SGF Lawal

The suspended Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), David Babachir Lawal yesterday appeared before the presidential panel where he was quizzed over alleged violations of due process in the award of contracts under the Presidential Initiative on the North East (PINE).

Lawal arrived the Presidential Villa about 1:00p.m. and was ushered before the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo-led panel to answer sundry questions in connection with the allegations. He departed the venue at 3:35p.m.

253 Nigerians deported from Libya arrive Lagos

Two hundred and fifty three Nigerians, who were stranded in Libya were yesterday deported  to Nigeria. The  returnees, who were conveyed by a Libyan Airline plane comprised of 140 adult females and eight children.

Police released member who bought gun for gang – Suspect

A suspected robber, Lawrence Nwede, has accused operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Lagos State Police Command, of releasing a member of his gang, who allegedly procured a gun they used for operations.
