Boy attacked by 'tame' lion in South Africa dies after 3 weeks in coma

12-year-old Kristian Prinsloo did not survive the April 8 lion attack that left him in a critical condition at a hospital in Pretoria where he died on Wednesday.

The Grade 6 pupil died a day after his 12th birthday with two of his neck vertebrae damaged from the attack and a swollen brain that stopped doctors from performing any operation, local media News24 reported.

Kenya to recruit 10,000 policemen ahead of August 8 polls

Kenya’s National Police Service has opened applications to recruit 10,000 more people ahead of the general elections on August 8, 2017.

Selection of the recruits will be done on May 11 and induction will be done after a nine-month training, the police service announced.

Dasuki and Zakzaky are currently in detention.

The United States and President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday hit back at former President Goodluck Jonathan over his claims on the 2015 polls and anti-corruption fight.

Jonathan had claimed that he lost his re-election to local and international conspiracies, including U.S., during the 2015 presidential election.

He also accused Buhari of harassing his family with his anti-corruption fight. But both the U.S. and Buhari said there was no truth in Jonathan’s claims.

A Mississippi sheriff’s deputy has filed a lawsuit against R&B superstar R. Kelly over an alleged affair Kelly had with the deputy’s wife.

Buhari seeks senate's approval to borrow $6.9bn from China, World Bank

President Muhammadu Buhari is seeking senate's approval for a proposal to borrow $5.85 billion from China to modernise its rail network and another $1.075 billion from the World Bank to help rebuild the insurgency-torn northeast.

Buhari urged parliament in a letter to approve the railway borrowing because China has a limit on funds available from its China Africa Fund. The president wants to sign loan agreements as soon as China approves the project.

EFCC quizzes Abuja estate developer, SAN over alleged N2bn land fraud
