“Boko Haram Didn’t Kidnap Chibok Girls, APC Used Them Against GEJ” – Labour Party


The Labour Party (LP) has accused the All Progressive Congress of kidnapping Chibok girls contrary to the believe that they were kidnapped by Boko Haram insurgents.
The party said the ruling APC kidnapped the girls so as to dent the image of former president Goodluck Jonathan’s administration.

Dasuki still in detention because of other charges - Presidency


Garba Shehu, presidential spokesman, says Sambo Dasuki, former national security adviser (NSA), is still in detention despite court orders for his release because there are other charges against him.

Dasuki has been in the Department of State services (DSS) detention since December 2015 despite orders for his release by three courts. He is facing separate charges of money laundering and illegal possession firearms at a high court in Abuja.

Man threatens to kill witnesses in court


Justice Rifkatu Sha of Jos High Court on Tuesday warned an accused person, Tasiu Mohammed, 21, against threatening witnesses testifying against him.
The warning came when Mohammed was caught making gestures indicating that he would slash the throats of the witnesses, while they stood in the dock.

96 suspected rapists nabbed within 2 months in Kano


The Kano State police Command, on Tuesday said it had arrested a total of 96 suspected rapists in the state between April and now.

The Command’s Police Public Relations Officer(PPRO), DSP Magaji Majiya, said at an interaction with newsmen in Kano that 77 of the suspects had been charged  to court, while eight cases were under investigation.

The Department of State Services has accused businessman and Chief Executive Officer of Capital Oil and Gas Ltd, Ifeanyi Ubah, of diverting about 80 million litres of Premium Motor Spirit (commonly called petrol), kept in his custody by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation.
The agency stated that Ubah shunned NNPC’s repeated demand for the product said to worth N11bn in order to cause an artificial scarcity of the product.

Nigerian Pastor Murdered Outside His Apartment in the USA


Oluwadayomi Epenusi, a 66-year-old Nigerian-born church pastor, was shot dead outside his apartment in Indianapolis, United States, on Saturday.
 
According to RTV6 the Indy Channel’s report, the murder took place at around 1:30 am.
 
Epenusi had recently relocated from Nigeria to US, and lived in an apartment complex near 10th Street and I-465 on the city’s west side Indiana. Many other Nigerians live in the same apartment complex.

A 21-year-old man, Abiodun Ayo, who allegedly stabbed his friend, Alaba Akinleye, in the eye over a bottle of beer, was on Tuesday charged before a Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court, Lagos State.
 
Ayo, whose address is unknown, is facing a charge of assault. The Prosecutor, Insp. Akpan Ikem, told the court that the accused committed the offence on Dec. 18, 2016, at Mapowu Street, Ojo, Lagos.

Veteran actor Charles Kofi Bucknor, has died, according MyJoy. There are conflicting accounts as to when he died, but it was gathered that he passed away Monday, May 22 at the 37 Military Hospital.
 
The cause of his death is still unknown. While making a public announcement of his death, actress and producer Juliet Asante took to Facebook on Tuesday, saying “It is with sadness that we announce the death of Industry giant Mr. Charles Kofi Bucknor who played the patriarch in Silver Rain.

Three Helicopters Bought by Ghana at a Whopping $150m Mysteriously Disappears


Although government has paid $150m for three helicopters for Ghana Gas Company, the whereabouts of the choppers remains a mystery, the Public Interest and Accountability Committee (PIAC) has revealed, according to a report by MyJoy.
 
The report further stated that it is still not known whether the helicopters have been delivered or missing.
