Palestinian girl,16 who slapped Israeli soldier risks jail term

A 16-year-old Palestinian girl was charged with assault by an Israeli court on Monday after video footage showed her hitting an armed Israeli soldier in the face, local media reported.

Ahed Tamimi is accused of other attacks on Israeli security forces as well. Her mother, Nariman, was also been charged by the Israeli military court in the West Bank with causing bodily harm and for incitement, the Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported on Monday.

Nigeria loses N260b through exchange of crude oil with petroleum products

The Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI) 2015 Oil and Gas Industry Audit Report, showed that the country recorded a net loss of $723 million (N260 billion) from getting refined products through Offshore Processing Arrangement (OPA) in 2015.

The Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has said that his administration will ask its senior officials to enrol their children in government-owned schools.

Public primary schools, largely poorly funded, ill-equipped and staffed with inadequate, and sometimes incompetent,  teachers, are usually attended by wards of low income earners and the poor across Nigeria.

SARS Operatives Accused Of Killing Cross River Revenue Collector On Friday

Men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad in the Cross River State Police Command have killed a revenue collector, identified as Edward Inyambe, and arrested another on the alleged orders of the  state’s Commissioner for Agriculture, Prof. Anthony Eneji.

Southern City News learnt on Sunday that the incident, which happened on Friday in Gakem, Bekwarra Local Government Area, was alleged to be an attempt to take over the collection of revenue of ‘non-cocoa’ produce from a consultancy firm appointed by the state Internal Revenue Service.
