CCTV catches Lagos couple robbing commuters

Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a couple after they were allegedly caught on a mobile Closed Circuit Television camera robbing some commuters.

The police said the suspects – Segun Latoye and Toyin Samuel –were arrested on Friday after being caught on camera three times in Oshodi dispossessing passersby of their belongings.

About one in three households in Nigeria consume contaminated water, a survey by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has revealed.

The survey was carried out in 2016/2017 by the NBS in collaboration with the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency (NPHCDA) and the National Agency for the Control of Aids (NACA) as part of the global Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS) programme.

Former First Lady Patience Jonathan’s bid to settle out of court the brewing dispute over the strange payment of $11,489,069.03 into her domiciliary accounts has been rejected.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has  asked the ex-First Lady to come before a court by entering into a plea bargain in line with the laws of the land.

The agency said it would only accept a plea bargain in which the court is carried along.

Kaduna Governor, El-Rufai Suspended For 6 Months By APC Faction

A faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna state has suspended Nasir el-Rufai, governor of the state, for six months.  El-Rufai’s suspension is coming three days after the faction, known as Kaduna Restoration Group, issued him a query and suspended three of his aides for 18 months.

The faction led by Suleiman Hunkuyi, leader of the faction and senator representing Kaduna north central, had accused el-Rufai of  “anti- party activities and anti-human activities”.

Man and 11-year-old daughter killed in French Alps avalanche

A 44-year-old man and his 11-year-old daughter have died after being swept away by an avalanche in the French Alps, according to local media.

BFMTV reports that the two skiers, who were from Paris, died after an avalanche in the Val d’Isere area, at an altitude of 3,000 metres.
