A 42-year-old trader, Sule Olawunmi, was on Wednesday charged with the theft of 30 pieces of old layer chickens worth N130,000 before a Somolu Magistrates’ Court.
The accused, who resides at 126 Apata Street, Somolu, was arraigned on a two-count charge of stealing and obtaining by false pretext.

The prosecutor said the offences contravened Sections 285 and 312 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2011.
The accused pleaded not-guilty.
The Magistrate, Mrs Bola Osunsanmi, granted bail to the accused in the sum of N50, 000 with one surety in like sum.
She adjourned the case to March 14 for trial.
