Boko Haram: Cameroonian arms dealer arrested in Borno

A Cameroonian national, accused of supplying the Nigerian Islamists, Boko Haram with sophisticated weapons has been arrested by Nigerian military in Balabalge area of Borno State, a security source told DailyPost in Maiduguri.

The suspect is said to be involved in supplying anti aircraft machine guns to the sect members.
The source, who pleaded anonymity said that the arms dealer is also helping the military with information on how to mop-up dangerous weapons from them.
According to him, “The man was arrested in Kalabalge, and so many weapons were recovered from him.

“The weapons were found in a building, which used to be a church in the area but the Boko Haram burnt it down after killing the worshipers and turned the building into a store house for keeping weapons”.

He further disclosed that the Cameroonian national has also helped in arresting some other suspects, who act as middle men between him and other sect members.
Attempt by DailyPost to get the spokesman of the 7 Division Nigerian Army in Maiduguri, Col. Muhammadu Dole to speak on the arrests did not yield result as his phone was not going through as at the time of filing this report.
