Bowen varsity students protest restriction, outage on campus

   BOWEN

Confusion enveloped the Bowen University, Iwo in Osun State on Thursday as students of the varsity staged a protest against the new timetable released by the university management.

Our correspondent learnt that the students of the private university trooped out to protest the timetable which stipulated that all students must leave their hostels by 8am irrespective of whether they have lectures or not and must be in the school areas until 4pm, when they would be allowed to the hostel.
The male students were said to have protested the non availability of electricity supply and water.
Some vehicles were reportedly vandalised by the irate students during the protest.
It was gathered that peace returned to the campus on Thursday morning but no lecture took place as the atmosphere was still tense.
The Public Relations Officer of the institution, Mr. Aderoju could not be reached as of the time of filing this report.
