A close family member, who pleaded anonymity, told Vanguard in Osogbo yesterday that the late politician died as a result of gunshot injuries he sustained after suspected assassins attacked him and his wife.

The source added that Oyelade underwent series of operations to extract bullets from his stomach before he finally died on Friday.
It would be recalled that two masked men attacked Oyelade at Oju’ run area of Inisa town last Wednesday evening and shot him in the stomach.
After Oyelade had been shot twice, his wife, who was in the house when the attackers came, had her mobile phone seized and was bound while the operation lasted.
