Train crushes 80-year-old woman to deaths in Jigawa

Madam Yakinini Musa, 80, was crushed to death by a moving train in Jigawa, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, said on Wednesday.

The state Commandant, Muhammad Gidado, confirmed the death in Dutse, the state capital.

He said the woman, from Karidu Village in Birniwa Local Government Area of Jigawa, was crushed to death by the train while crossing the rail line around 4 p.m. on Tuesday.

According to him, the remains of the woman have since been buried in line with Islamic tradition.

He advised people to always be extra careful when crossing roads or rail lines.
