Van Gaal opens talks over United job
Louis van Gaal is set to open talks with Manchester United this week over becoming their new manager following the exit of David Moyes.
Van Gaal, the current coach of the Dutch national team, is set to leave the role after the World Cup and had been strongly linked with a move to Tottenham.

But after news emerged that the Red Devils are set to part-company with Moyes, he has emerged as the favourite for the United hot seat and is now primed to open talks with the club.
According to reports, senior United officials are due to meet with the experienced boss at his Portuguese holiday home this week with a view to him taking up the Old Trafford reigns.

A former Ajax, Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss, Van Gaal boasts considerable knowledge managing top clubs and is seen by the Glazer family as a safe pair of hands.
Jurgen Klopp, Diego Simeone, Robert Martinez and current player Ryan Giggs are also thought to be on United’s shortlist.
