Air condition workers find $300,000 worth of gold

Several workers innocently installing some air condition equipment stumbled upon a real gold mine, according to press reports.

A California company for heating, ventilation and air conditioning said that their workers found $300,000 worth of gold dust during installation of an air conditioning system in an old house.

Steve Ottley, who works for Clark & Rush, said that he and his partner were installing an air conditioning system at the Sacramento home when they discovered 12 baby food jars filled with gold dust.

"I still cannot believe this today," Ottley said about the freak discovery. "It's unreal. It was like we looked at each other and just said 'wow.’”

The gold was given to the homeowners, who asked that their names not be reported. Clark & Rush also said that this wasn’t the first gold discovery that their workers stumbled upon.

Workers who were installing an air condition system in a facility in the 1980s, discovered about $25,000 in gold coins.
