Emmanuel Frimpong has earned a bit of a reputation for mocking the misfortunes of other footballers, but as they say – what goes around comes around.
And the former Arsenal midfielder is dealing with a bit of bad news of his own today, after Barnsley officially dumped him; just four months after his arrival.
Frimpong was hoping for a fresh start after arriving at Oakwell, but after getting sent off on his debut, things soon went down hill.
Instead of re-launching his career in Yorkshire, the club were relegated from the Championship – and responded by releasing the player along with a handful of his team-mates.
The news will likely come as a blow to Frimpong’s chances of making the Ghana team ahead of the World Cup this summer, having declared his desire to represent the Black Stars two years ago.
