Didier Drogba could be set for a dramatic return to Chelsea at the end of the season with the Blues ready to offer him a player-coach role.
Drogba, who left Stamford Bridge two years ago, is currently weighing up his options with his contract at Galatasaray set to expire next month.
Roma and several MLS clubs have been linked with his services, but Chelsea are ready to offer him an emotional return to Stamford Bridge.
Le Sport 10 reports Jose Mourinho will offer the 36-year-old a one year playing contract followed by a three year coaching deal, with a view to Drogba joining the Special One’s staff in the future.
The move would appeal to the Ivory Coast star, who has made no secret of his desire to go into coaching at some stage in his career.
Drogba enjoyed a hugely successful spell with the Blues previously, winning three Premier League titles, four FA Cups and a Champions League.
