Ado Bayero’s Sons Yet To Visit New Emir Of Kano

As prominent emirate council officials continue paying homage to the new emir of Kano, Malam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, some top council officials were yet to visit him as at yesterday.

Our correspondents observed that the Galadiman Kano, Tijjani Hashim and four sons of the late Alhaji Ado Bayero, the Chiroma, Sunusi Lamido Ado, Alhaji Aminu Ado, Bello Ado Bayero and Nasiru Ado Bayero were yet to pay homage yesterday.

Chiroma was among the three submitted for the appointment as new emir to governor Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso from which he selected Sanusi Lamido Sanusi. While the Wamban Kano who was also a contender visited yesterday, a source at the emirate council said the Galadima only sent representative on Tuesday.

The government still maintained its emergency arrangement on security with the Hisba and vigilante groups providing security at the Government House.

The reduction of security personnel by more than half on Tuesday is having a significant impact.
An unkempt boy was overheard saying, “For over three years we had not been here, today we are back in the Government House”.

Only 25 policemen were at the main gate of the Government House while the governor’s office was guarded by only four unarmed Civil Defence men.

A source at the Civil Defence office said they deployed additional 15 men in addition to those already there to assist. Some of them were deployed from the local government areas. The vigilante groups were stationed on the road leading to the main entrance
