Liverpool boosted by Swansea in race for Bony

Liverpool boosted by Swansea in race for Bony

Liverpool have been boosted by Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins in their bid to land striker Wilfried Bony.
The Swans chairman was speaking to TalkSport when he revealed that the club are open to offers from Champions League clubs.

He said: ‘Wilfried Bony is a fantastic professional. If a top Champions League club comes in, and puts the right offer on the table, then of course we will speak to him.
‘There are no issues with Bony. He’s a great guy to have around the club.
‘As much as we want players to stay with us for a number of years, we have to be open.’
This news will come as a blow to Tottenham Hotspur, who are also chasing the Ivory Coast forward, but who can’t offer Champions League football.
Bony scored an impressive 25 times in 48 games during his first season with the Swans last year and also found the net twice in his country’s ill-fated World Cup campaign.
