Radamel Falcao snubbed offers from Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City in order to join Manchester United this summer, his dad has revealed.
The Colombian striker made a deadline day loan move to Old Trafford as he became the last of Louis van Gaal’s summer acquisitions.
But it appears United weren’t the only English club interested in signing the 28-year-old, according to his father.
‘Manchester United is the most important team in England and one of the most powerful financially,’ he said.
‘Now he [Falcao] must perform at his best to continue winning.
‘Fortunately he has adapted to European football and in the teams where he has been in Argentina it was easily done too.
‘Juventus, Manchester City, Liverpool also approached him and Arsenal at the last minute.
‘Fortunately, he ended up at Manchester United, a great team that he has to lead forward.’
