Chelsea’s newest striker Loic Remy has hit out at Liverpool for not signing him, accusing the Reds of dishonesty.
The Frenchman had looked all set to complete a move to Merseyside, but Liverpool pulled out of the deal at the last minute after a problem arose during Remy’s medical.
The issue was reported as being a heart defect, which has proved to be an obstacle in previous transfers involving the 27 year-old.
However, it seems Remy was less than impressed with the Reds pulling the plug on his deal, and told the Sun that he ‘did not understand Liverpool’s decision’.
‘It was not very honest from their side,’ he said.
‘I was not scared. I know exactly what I have, I met all the specialists in the world. A lot of players share the same situation as mine and Liverpool know it.’
Remy eventually moved to Stamford Bridge in the last week of the transfer window, and will be very keen to make Liverpool regret their hesitancy.
Indeed, if his match-winning goal against Spain is anything to go by, he’s more than capable of giving Brendan Rodgers something to rue.
