Boyfriend forced to choose whether to save girlfriend or ex

Boyfriend forced to choose whether to save girlfriend or ex

A man was faced with a difficult choice when his current and ex girlfriends both jumped in a river to see who he would save.
Wu Hsia, 21, broke up with Jun Tang, 20, after meeting new girlfriend Rong Tsao, 22.
But Jun could not accept that it was over and continued to harass him.
Eventually he agreed to meet with her to make it clear where his loyalties lie.

He said: ‘I was sick of being nagged from both sides. Rong was moaning about Jun and Jun was moaning about her and it all go too much.’
But when they got to the river, in Ningbo, eastern China, the situation went from bad to worse.

Wu Hsia, 21, had broken up with long-term girlfriend Jun Tang, 20, after meeting new love Rong Tsao, 22, in Ningbo city in east Chinaís Zhejiang province. But over the following three months, jilted Jun kept hassling him to get back with her and haranguing Rong to leave him. Eventually, Wu decided to arrange a meeting between the three of them at a nearby beauty spot next to a river. He said: "I was sick of being nagged from both sides. "Rong was moaning about Jun and Jun was moaning about her and it all go too much. "I became confused about who I wanted so I thought it would be best if we all met and talked about it." But when they got to the river, the situation went from bad to worse. Wu said: "The girls began arguing and then Jun flipped and jumped off the bridge and straight into the water. "She was calling for help but then Rong also leapt over saying it was her or my ex. "I was completely dumbfounded about what was going on. "But then I realised that I had to do something so I also jumped in but to save Rong." After dragging the soaking wet girl ashore, Wu phoned his brother to rescue the floundering ex before taking Rong home. Meanwhile Wuís brother called the fire brigade who arrived at the scene and heledp Jun out of the water. A spokesman said: "She was taken to hospital but was released soon after without any major injuries." Confused Wu said: ëI was put in a difficult situation and had to make a choice between right and wrong. "And I chose Rong." (ends)

A police spokesman said: ‘The girls began arguing and the man’s ex-girlfriend felt insulted by a comment made by the new girlfriend, and so she jumped into the river calling for her former lover to save her.
‘The new girlfriend, fearing that he might indeed jump in to save his ex-lover, then jumped in as well and both of them within calling for him to rescue them from drowning.’
Wu settled the matter by jumping in the water to save his current girlfriend, and then taking the soaking wet and slightly injured young woman to hospital.

The police spokesman added: ‘He called his brother on the way home and told him to go to the river and rescue the ex-girlfriend.’
Wu’s brother in turn called the fire brigade who arrived at the scene and helped Jun out of the water.
A rescue worker said: ‘She was taken to hospital but was released soon after without any major injuries.’
The story quickly went viral in China where there is a chronic shortage of women thanks to the country’s one child policy meant parents preferred male babies. As a result there is a surplus of millions of single men who will never marry as, normally, they cannot find partners.
