Pokemon Go players have faced a host of dangers as they wander the world with eyes glued to their phones.

From walking into oncoming traffic to crashing into other people, players have found themselves up against a host of dangers and now they must add another to the list: mud pits.

A 62-year-old New York man found himself trapped waist-deep in mud while playing the wildly popular augmented reality game, authorities said.

Police say the unidentified man was walking in thick woods behind his home in Coeymans, New York - just south of Albany - looking for Pokemon when he wandered into the pit.
'He was in some thick mud,' Chief P.J. McKenna, of Coeymans Police, told News 10 ABC. 'He had really gotten disoriented and he was in a bad situation.'

Since he already had his phone in hand he was able to dial 911.
The dispatch used a phone signal to ping the lost mans cell phone in order to track him down in the dark.

He was close to his home when officers found him.
Officers said he declined to tell them if he caught the Pokemon he was looking for.
