Figures released by Forbes have shown that Arsenal shareholder Alisher Usmanov's net worth rose by $3billion in 2016. Usmanov, who owns just over 30 per cent of the Gunners, is now worth $15.2billion.
Majority shareholder Stan Kroenke, who also owns NFL franchise LA Rams, is valued at $7.5billion, around half the amount of Usmanov.
Forbes' list of the world's wealthiest men shows the pair combined are worth more than double that of oil-rich Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich who is valued at $9.1billion.
Arsenal fans have been frustrated by the club's apparent inability to use Usmanov's wealth in the transfer market as they look to compete with Europe's biggest clubs. Despite the finances at his disposal, Usmanov is not on the Arsenal board.
The Forbes list rates Usmanov as the 66th richest man in the world, with Abramovich at 139 and Kroenke at 182.
