Fed govt sacks 5 federal directors over employment irregularities

The Federal Government has sacked five directors at the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) for what has been reported as illegal recruitment exercise.
The five directors were reportedly appointed during the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan.
The directors were reportedly sacked with immediate effect.

It was gathered that while the directors were sacked, other staff of the parastatal in charge of Nigeria’s pension were redeployed to the office of the Accountant-General of the Federation.
It was learnt that the directors were actually appointed against civil service rule and were found guilty of employment irregularities after investigation.
One of the rules under which they were sacked, according to reports, is that they were above 50 years old as against the public service rules.
According to findings, the affected directors were appointed during the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan.
