A man is facing jail after ‘viciously’ raping of an 81-year-old woman minutes after he sat next to her on a bus.
Anthony Roberts, 41, followed his victim after she got off at her stop and then dragged her into a secluded area before attacking her.
He stripped her and threatened her, claiming he had a knife and would kill her if he made noise.
Metro UK reports that,the victim returned home where she told a family member that she had been attacked in Balham, south west London, last month.They called police and the victim was treated for her injuries at hospital.
Officers attended Roberts’ address the following day and he was arrested.Roberts pleaded guilty to kidnap and two counts of rape when he appeared at Kingston Crown Court on Friday.
Detective Inspector Melissa Laremore, from the Sexual Offences, Exploitation and Child Abuse Command, said: ‘Roberts is a very dangerous offender who subjected the elderly victim to a vicious rape.
