A Ghanaian girl Nancy Abu-Bonsrah is making history in the United states after becoming the first black female neurosurgeon at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in 30 years... The prestigious program accepts just two to five residents, and is ranked second in the country. Among its most notable alumni: Dr. Ben Carson, who is now the United States secretary of Housing and Urban Development.
Nana, who's graduating from John Hopkins and will go on to work in their neurosurgery department, hails from Ghana. She was raised in the West African country until the age of 15, and has been in Maryland for the past 11 years.
