Why I Turned Down Arsenal to Sign for Chelsea - Blues Star, N'Golo Kante Finally Breaks Silence

Chelsea midfielder, N'Golo Kante, has finally broken his silence on how Arsene Wenger had wanted to sign him for Arsenal, before he chose to join their London rivals, Chelsea last summer.

While speaking in a new interview with Sky Sports, 26-year-old France midfielder, N'Golo Kante, who played an integral role in Leicester City's title triumph last season, has opened up on turning down interest from Arsenal last summer, and chose to sign for Chelsea instead.
The brilliant midfielder whose swapping the King Power Stadium for Stamford Bridge in a £32million deal, revealed that he decided against a move to the Emirates Stadium because the club did not push to sign him.

'With Arsenal there was an interest but not a big as other clubs. That is why I didn't go to Arsenal and went to Chelsea,' Kante told Sky Sports.

According to Dailymail, the Gunner's boss, Arsene Wenger, had revealed in February that Kante was on his radar both while he played in France with Boulogne and Caen, and when he was a Leicester player.

Wenger suggested that finances had scuppered his chance of landing Kante from the Premier League champions.

Asked if he had ever tried to sign the all-action midfielder, Wenger said: 'When he was in France, when he was at Leicester.'

When pushed about why Arsenal missed out on Kante, who is understood to earn around £110,000 a week at Chelsea, Wenger added: 'We cannot explain everything, but it is quite obvious when you look at where he has gone.

'I do not want to talk more about that. Transfers are transfers.'
