Two clubs express desire to sign Ibrahimovic after Manchester United exit

No fewer than two European clubs have expressed interest in hiring the services of Zlatan Ibrahimovic after Manchester United put him up on free transfer yesterday.

It could be recalled that the Swedish star became the only first-team player to be released by Manchester United this summer when his name appeared on a list of players available for free transfers.

But Ibrahimovic will not be short of offers when he is making his decision of where to play next.

Bundesliga side, Hertha Berlin, and French club, Chamois Niortais, have thrown their name in the mix with a cheeky bid to persuade the Swede to sign for them.

In post on Twitter, Berlin-based Hertha wrote: “No contract at @ManUtd – we’ve great fans, but still no cash: BUT YOU CAN WIN BUNDESLIGA for the first time – think about it @ibra_official.”

Similarly,Chamois Niortais mocked up an image of Ibrahimovic in one of their shirts with the caption: “Official opening of the period of negotiations. @ibra_official, how many retweets for you to sign for team Chamois.”

Even before his injury, the striker, who joined United last summer, was linked with a move away from the club.

The 35-year-old, who scored 28 goals for United in his season at Old Trafford, had been linked with a move to the MLS.

After his cruciate ligament injury there were concerns that his playing career might be over but after surgery in America his agent Mina Raiola confirmed that he was ready to play for another year.
