Marseille coach enquires about Vincent Aboubakar

Cameroon’s Confederations Cup striker Vincent Aboubakar could be set for a return to French football with reports that Marseille are interested in his services.
The FC Porto forward is on a lookout for a new home after his loan to Besiktas came to an end.

Aboubakar announced his arrival in Europe through the French top tier having evolved at Valenciennes then Lorient between 2010 and 2014. He would then be sold to Porto with whom he still has a year left on his contract.
The Indomitable Lion scored 19 goals in 38 games in all competitions for Besiktas although he remains nowhere near Porto’s technical plans.
Mercato365.com reports that Rudi Garcia has already asked Porto about the 25-year-old’s availability.
Marseille, who have already signed Valere Germain from Monaco, are looking for another top striker after Bafetimbi Gomis’ departure for Galatasaray.
Stevan Jovetic, Carlos Bacca, Olivier Giroud, and Aboubakar are all names that have appeared on Garcia’s radar for a top talisman.
Aboubakar becomes the second African on the Phocians radar after Ivorian starlet Joris Gnagnon.
The 20-year-old defender had a breakout season at Stade Rennais and looks to have caught the attention of a number of top Ligue 1 sides, including Marseille.
La Provence understands that Garcia has already contacted Rennes regarding a potential move for the defender who made 27 appearances last season.
