Daniel Craig finally confirms he’ll play James Bond again

After two years of nail-biting anxiety on the part of fans, Daniel Craig has revealed that he will star in yet another James Bond flick.

Before now, the British actor had been evasive on whether he will return to reprise the role.

In 2015, Craig told a reporter that he would “rather break this glass and slash my wrists” than play James Bond again.

Fast forward to 2017, the situation appears to have changed as Craig dropped hints of his return in different interviews on Tuesday.

During his appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the question was posed at him and he said: “Yes.”

Craig told Colbert that he has known for a “couple of months” that he will take up the 007 role again.

The New York Times had in July reported that he would be returning as James Bond but there was no official confirmation from the franchise’s producers.

“We’ve been discussing it, we’ve just been trying to figure things out. I always wanted to, I needed a break,” Craig also said on the show.

“I just want to go out on a high note, and I can’t wait.”

In another interview on Boston radio show Morning Magic, Craig said, “nothing official has been confirmed. Lest you think Craig is simply stalling as a negotiation tactic. I’m not, like, holding out for more money or doing anything like that. It’s just all very personal decisions to be made at the moment”.

The 25th James Bond film is expected to be released in November 2019.

Craig has played James Bond in Quantum of Solace (2008), Skyfall (2012) and Spectre (2015).

Another British actor Idris Elba had been heavily rumoured to be in line to succeed Craig, which would have made him the first black James Bond.
